Strand Guitars is a guitar workshop situated in Jørpeland, a city in the southwestern part of Norway. The company was founded January 2005 by Ørjan Bråtveit Berge and Odd Blikra Egeland, who both have 3 years of education in guitarbuilding and 3 months of apprenticeship in USA.

The guitarmakers have throughout the education built electrical guitars and basses, classical guitars and acoustic steel-string guitars. Besides making the guitars, they’ve also got broad experience in repairing acoustic and electrical guitars.

The guitars from Strand Guitars are made in a 100 years old carpentry which lies in the industry-area of the company Scana Steel Stavanger AS. Here we’ve got traditional woodworking machines and tools, in addition to special equipment needed for the making and repairing of guitars.

We make acoustic guitars, with a main focus on the steel-string guitars according to American tradition. All the guitars are handmade, and each and one of them is adapted to the individual properties of the materials used in the process of making it. We can therefore, when considering the sound of the guitar, achieve a better result than the guitars that are factory made.

We do all kinds of repairs on guitars and other string-instruments. In our workshop you can buy strings and other requisites your guitar might need. Counsel and experience is of course something we gladly share with you.
